SIBYLLE “SIBY” GREBE

Sibylle Grebe is the Founder and Principal Attorney of The Probate House L.C. She is a skilled and well respected attorney with over thirty (30) years of legal expertise as attorney. Prior to becoming an attorney she worked as a paralegal bringing a unique skill set to the table when assisting the firm’s clients. She is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of California and the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Grebe focuses upon Estates, Trusts, Conservatorships (General & Limited), Guardianship together with Estate & Trust Administration. Her emphasis on estate planning addresses incapacity and end of life decisions, with a goal of avoiding conservatorship and probate administration. She enjoys working on Limited Conservatorships which started over a decade ago when she was appointed by the Los Angeles Superior Court as PVP counsel (now CAC counsel), representing young and older adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities who are clients of the Los Angeles Regional Center. Ms. Grebe now assists parents or family members with filing petitions for a Limited Conservatorship. Ms. Grebe is dedicated to provide expert cost-effective service while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism taking each client into account.

Ms. Grebe was selected Super Lawyer since (almost ten (10) years). This selection is based on an extensive evaluation, including peer recognition and professional achievement in her legal practice area. She was selected by Super Lawyers as Top 50 Women Lawyers for the Southern California Region since 2019. She was presented with the “Lawyer of the Year Award” in 2021 by the Officers and Directors of the South Bay Bar Association, as first woman, in recognition of continuing positive impact on the legal profession. Ms. Grebe has enlisted her leadership skills and experience in the service of many professional and community organizations. Early on, she participated in the Guardianship Volunteer Project through the Los Angeles Superior court and served on the Probate Volunteer Panel of Attorneys for the Los Angeles Superior Court starting in 2004.

Ms. Grebe served as former chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACB) Elder Law Committee and participated in various pro bono activities including counseling older adults and providing public information throughout the Los Angeles area. She is a member and past president of the California Council of Elder Law Attorneys. She served as a Co-Chair and is a current member of the Lawyer Referral and Information Service Advisory Committee. Ms. Grebe is a past member of the Trusts and Estates Executive Committee, both of which are under the aegis of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Ms. Grebe served on the South Bay Bar Association Board (SBBA) of Directors, co-chair of the Probate and Trust Section and served as the President of the South Bay Bar in 2017. She was a member of the Board of Directors of OPICA, a non–profit adult care center dedicated to helping memory impaired adults and their families. Ms. Grebe also served as Chair of the Board of Directors of H.E.L.P., a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting older adults and their families.

Her speaking engagements include the Los Angeles County Bar, Morgan Stanley, The City of Los Angeles, The Women Lawyers Association of LA, and the Comcast Community Access Cable TV production "Senior Living", HELP (Estate Planning) Manhattan Beach Library; and HELP (Conservatorships) Torrance Library. Subsequent to graduating from Southwestern Law School, she became actively involved in the Mock Interview Program for Southwestern University School lasting over 20 years.
